The Haunting of Hill House performed to sold out audiences in October 2018 and was 
nominated for the 4th Annual TCTB Awards by the Twin Cities Theater Bloggers in two categories!

The production, which ran Oct 12-27 at the James J. Hill House in St. Paul, MN was nominated for
Favorite Sound Design - Forest Godfrey and for Favorite Site-Specific Work.

Erik Sorensen (Luke) is a Minneapolis based actor. Recent Twin Cities credits include: "Hamlet" with Wayward Theatre Company and "Frankenstein" with Green T Productions. Erik also devised and co-produced "How to Fix It" as part of the 2018 Minnesota Fringe Festival. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theater from Carleton College. 

 

Catherine Hansen (Eleanor) is an actress, writer, and producer in the Twin Cities. In June she co-created and performed in "The Sleepover Club" at Bryant Lake Bowl, and in July played Mandy in Smartmouth Comedy’s new play "Wild Weekend." Her recent film credits include "Garbage Boy" for the 2018 Z-Fest, and "Guns of the Apocalypse" with Christopher R. Mihm. Catherine has written for the Annual Twin Cities One-Minute Play Festival and Theatre Unbound Smackdown.

 

Steve Ramirez (Arthur) - This is Steve’s first venture with TheaterX and he is very pleased to be part of this cast. While originally from California, he came to Minnesota, via Indiana, 30 years ago.  He has acted and directed on various stages around the Twin Cities, recently appearing as Bill Ray in "On Golden Pond," Pharaoh in "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat," and the Vulcan Narrator in "A Klingon Christmas Carol."  He is an accomplished musician who plays several instruments, including guitars and percussion. He can often be discovered with family and friends at a local pizza parlor or movie theater, indulging in the latest treats.

 

Roberta Gibbons (Mrs. Dudley) is fresh off a performance at MN Fringe where she played Tina in "Sareeously Speaking."  Other recent stage credits include the role of Thana in "Persephone's Rising" at the TEASE Showcase, Beatrice in "A View from the Bridge" at Theater in the Round, and Mrs. Chevely in "An Ideal Husband" with Classics Lost & Found Theater.  She has also worked with Eagan Theater Company and Madison Theater Guild, and can be seen in local film/commercial productions including the national award-winning "PSA One Decision." Roberta has a houseful of family and pets and loves spending time with all of them. She's an enthusiastic yogi and tennis player.  When not on stage, Dr. Gibbons moonlights as a professor at Metropolitan State University. 

 

Jody Bee (Mrs. Montague) is happy to be making her debut with TheatreX. She loves Shirley Jackson and is thrilled for the opportunity to embody Mrs. Montague in this perfect setting. A few of the other theatres she has worked with include Off-Leash Area, Persistent Theatre Productions, See-Saw Theatre Lab, Tiger-Lion Arts, TRP, and Skewed Visions. She also hosts "The First Date," a fun youtube show in which she interviews local celebrities and shows them a good time. Check it out!

 

Cate Jackson (Theodora) is so excited to be making her TheatreX debut!  She has previously worked with Smartmouth Comedy, Theatre in the Round, Little Lifeboats, Live Action Set, Nimbus Theater, and National Theater for Children.  She trained at the University of Minnesota (Luverne Seifert, Barbara Kingsley, Shirley Venard) and at the National Theater Institute at the Eugene O'Neil Theater Center (Rachel Jet, Michael Cadman, Brian McManamon).  Risk, fail, risk again!

 

Ryan D. Maddux (Dr. Montague) - A well-rounded performer, Ryan holds a MA in theater arts from Humboldt State University (HSU) and a BA in theater arts from the University of MN, Twin Cities. He has numerous Twin Cities and West Coast stage credits and has appeared in several films and local commercials. In addition to his acting experience, Ryan has directed and stage managed several productions and his teaching credits include acting courses at HSU, Camino Real Playhouse, and Child’s Play Theatre.

 

Joe Hendren (Director) is the founder of TheatreX and the Artistic Director of Minneapolis Musical Theatre. His most recent directing credits include "Minnesota's Coldest Case" at Landmark Center, "Always... Patsy Cline" for The Phipps, Brecht's "Antigone" at Hamline University, "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" for Theatre Uncorked and Chameleon Theatre, "Happy Days:  A New Musical" for Minneapolis Musical Theatre, and "A Man for All Seasons" for Open Window Theatre. Recent onstage credits include "Sense and Sensibility" at Theatre in the Round, "It Came from UUFO " for the Minnesota Fringe Festival, and "Tosca" with the Minnesota Opera. As a playwright, his works have been produced in Minnesota by Lakeshore Players, the Northfield Arts Guild, Rosetown Playhouse, Elk River High School, and others. His script "Espionage, Disloyalty, & Socialism: The Trial of Rose Pastor Stokes" was produced at Landmark Center in 2014 and his short play "ENCORE" was presented at the Minnesota Shorts 10th Anniversary Festival in September. Joe is a graduate of Hamline University in St. Paul  

 

Patrick Campbell (Stage Manager) is excited to be a part of TheatreX as the company Stage Manager. He is a graduate of St. John’s University where he received a BA in theater management. You can find Patrick also working as a Stage Manager with various community theaters in the Twin Cities including Lyric Arts in Anoka, Lakeshore Players in White Bear Lake, Seasons Dinner Theater in Ham Lake, and the Phipps Center in Hudson, WI. He also works as an insurance agent during the day for the Dick Petkoff State Farm agency in Roseville.  When he is not working he enjoys being outside working in the garden, watching movies, video games and spending time with his friends and family.

 

Kari Elizabeth Godfrey (Assistant Director) is delighted to work with TheatreX on this hauntingly exciting theatrical adventure. This is her assistant directing debut with the company, having previously directed for the 2018 Minnesota Fringe – "Fringe Orphans 4, Back in the Habit," Lakeshore Theater's 10 Minute Play Festival and several pieces for Chameleon Theatre's annual New Play Festival. Primarily she is on stage, most recently in Theatre in the Round's productions of "And Then There Were None," "The Canterville Ghost," and "Postmortem," Theatre Uncorked 's "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf," and Segue Production's 2017 Minnesota Fringe show "The Simple Mind of Dillon Magee."
